RV parks are a mixed bag! They range from sketchy to ritzy. With hundreds of RV sites simply using the word “resort” in their name, it can be hard to differentiate between nice & nasty.

Over our 4 years of full time RV traveling, we’ve camped at both extremes (and everything in between). Today, however, we’re only sharing the best!

The 11 RV parks we’re featuring have been tested by us and thousands of other RVers. We’ve all come to the same conclusion – these campgrounds are amazing!

In addition to the price & amenity info, each site will have a unique “RV Campgrounds Vibe” score – this score represents the overall campground experience.

Let’s dive in!

We’re Kyle & Olivia, a young couple traveling the country full time in our 16ft vintage camper. We hit the road in September of 2015 with the goal to live a minimal lifestyle and connect with the world around us. We want to share our experiences as we learn and grow, to hopefully help others who dream of life out on the open road. Join us as we discover the joys and obstacles of nomadic life!

  2. scrippslarry on December 4, 2019 at 5:54 pm

Congrats on the baby! What a great video full of terrific park suggestions! Many thanks! One suggestion might be to do one of these for each state you have experience in for us first time travelers. Maybe do them from north to south or east to west so they are in an order in each state? Thanks!

I truly enjoy how you respect your wife with her being pregnant and having this time for her was called the the nesting. It’s so vital and so important and to see you publicize that just shows that you are a great man and you’re going to be a great father

I’ve always camped in small forest service campgrounds or backpacked. I’m realizing that if my life is Rv’ing I’ll want to spend a few times a year in an RV Park.

  25. Craig Alan Niles on December 4, 2019 at 6:19 pm

Another great RV park near Indigo Bluffs in Empire is Wild Cherry RV Resort near Lake Leelanau a bit north of Empire. Great setting around a lake with concrete patios overlooking the lake.

I am downsizing and begin demo/remodel on the 5th wheel this Sunday! I have to work fast in order to move in by the end of the month. I look forward to following your page for inspiration and any tips or tricks for full-time life on wheels. I’ll be posting progress pics and videos on YouTube. Check me out in return if you’d like. 😃

  28. Lori Lust on December 4, 2019 at 6:21 pm

Love the free camping too!! However, every once and while a little pampering is nice. The only luxury camp ground we’ve been too so far, has been Sparks Marina RV Resort in Sparks, NV. LOL, which compared to your review, isn’t all that luxury.

  29. Robster on December 4, 2019 at 6:21 pm

Kyle, you guys alerted me to a call back on the Honda generators and mine was on the list. I’ve been catching a lot of rain down Florida way and was tuckin my little jewel under my rig by the back bumper. I’d like to say there’s not much that really scares me but I can’t even think about a trailer fire. I hope if our paths ever cross you guys will at least let me get the coffee. I’ll be wearing one of your T-shirts! Thanks. Really!!

  30. Alex Alonso on December 4, 2019 at 6:22 pm

How come Ruby’s RV in Bryce UTAH is not on your list?

  31. Captain Skippy on December 4, 2019 at 6:24 pm

Blue Key RV Resort in Key West FL. Absolutely amazing. You back up to the water and have your own Tiki Hut and kayak. You’ll see some class A’s approaching $1mil. But I felt fine in our Grand Design 5th wheel.

  32. Dan Sherwood on December 4, 2019 at 6:24 pm

Great job. We love MTN. Valley in Heber City it’s our quick get away out of S.L.C. We will be making a new list to travel to based on your recommendations.

Hi … an RV Resort in central California, near Pasos Robles, is Sun RV Resorts … heated pool, hot tub, club house, laundromat, full hookups, etc. They actually have two in this area. Also quite a few around the country and in Canada.

  36. Susan CA on December 4, 2019 at 6:29 pm

  39. Shelley Pitchford on December 4, 2019 at 6:34 pm

Flying Flags was a fabulous camping spot before it was sold and highly (and expensively) upgraded. The upgrades look neat, but I never stayed at one of these places for such amenities. Truly I think I liked it better before, but it is still quite a cool place.

  40. Kennedy Rodriguez on December 4, 2019 at 6:36 pm

Nice review, thank you for sharing!

  42. Reed Prior on December 4, 2019 at 6:38 pm

Hi Kyle…. best wishes to you both as you enter parenthood… demanding but worth it!
Question: I see you have the state sticker decal on your trailer. How did you mount it? Did you find a way to protect it from weathering?

  43. Chris L. on December 4, 2019 at 6:39 pm

the Elkhorn Ridge Resort in Spearfish SD. looks to be ideal.

  44. Back Country Misfit on December 4, 2019 at 6:40 pm

Thanks for sharing. Many of them are completely the opposite of what a campground should be so now I know where not to go.

  45. Golden Sun Partners on December 4, 2019 at 6:40 pm

Texas’ Nicest RV Park: Leander/NW Austin KOA campground award winning and super clean near the commuter rail station to downtown. Super long pull-thrus concrete patios, community rock fire pit, playground and the biggest dog park anywhere!

  46. Johnny Lightning on December 4, 2019 at 6:44 pm

Hey, Michigan made the list. It’s funny Michigan has the most freshwater shoreline, but no one seems to know it. Thanks for giving Sleeping Bear it’s props. Keep the videos coming and hope everything is OK with Olivia and the baby.

  47. Graham Allan on December 4, 2019 at 6:48 pm
