Do TT parks allow dogs? We have three small dogs. If we had a membership, would be denied access to some of their parks?

  2. Joe Allen on May 25, 2020 at 4:28 pm

We are also boon dockers welcome and Harvest Host members as well. We most likely won’t renew the HH as we had to go too far out of our way!
We are also Passport America members and that is a great deal for sure! We have an Elite TT membership as well and love it! We don’t do Good Sam or KOA’s, period!

  3. Mark Finnesgard on May 25, 2020 at 4:28 pm

You can use RPI to stay in an Encore park during your mandatory park to park out time.

  4. Slow Boat Sailing on May 25, 2020 at 4:28 pm

    Harvest America sites r free!

  5. Jim Wilson on May 25, 2020 at 4:34 pm

Are you still happy with TT? Which TT membership do you have? do you ever experience not being able to get in to a park that is full? How much advance reservation do you typically need with TT. we’re considering getting one.

  6. Paula Thomason on May 25, 2020 at 4:34 pm

The age limit of 55, do both of us need to be 55? I ask because Bob is 65, and I’m his "sugar baby" ( lmao) I’m ""only" 52..53 in September. Would this fly, or would we be told good bye?
Another great and informative video you two…thank you! We have the coast to coast and Sam’s also, because we didn’t see your other video until it was too oooo late! Yup, Camping World saw us 1st timers coming to.

  7. Katherine Moore on May 25, 2020 at 4:35 pm

Great information you guys provided. Thanks.

  8. DEW HOLDINGS LLC on May 25, 2020 at 4:37 pm

What is your opinion on Harvest Hosts if you are traveling and not staying put in one place. Boondocking at farms wineries breweries museums etc.

  9. Clumsy Zombie on May 25, 2020 at 4:37 pm

The only issue I see with Thousand Trails nothing is in central or north west…. So wondering if they are going to work on getting central US and north west. Because I have not found one club but KOA

  10. Steven Temple on May 25, 2020 at 4:38 pm

    Thanks for the info.

  11. Adventures in RV Living on May 25, 2020 at 4:39 pm

We’ve been full-time for a year with TT, and recently added the Trails Collection, all of which has been a blessing. We work part-time in the restaurant industry, and move with the seasons. Having the basic membership and Boondocking or Harvest Hosting for that week we have to be out has not been a giant challenge. It’s actually led us to places we wouldn’t normal have seen if we park hopped. Gotta do what works best for you. Thanks for the great info!!

  12. Captain Quirk on May 25, 2020 at 4:42 pm

    Great presentation, guys! 🙂

Quick question: the RPI membership you got for signing up for the Thousand Trails Elite Connections membership….is that an ongoing/continuing RPI membership, or just the first year only?

Also, what’s the diff between the "Basic" and the "Gold" RPI membership? (And which one do you get with the TT Elite Connections membership?)

  13. James Elswick on May 25, 2020 at 4:46 pm

    Hello guys!
Have you guys done a health insurance video? I’ve been concerned about traveling and having the same coverage as near my home base.

So we want to go to Florida for the winter months in 2020. I have been looking at Thousand Trails, but with basic membership + Trails Collection, and only 60 days ahead reservation allowed, I’m afraid we would pay for the membership and NOT be able to get a reservation during the busy winter months! I’ve heard you can’t see what places have any spots, UNTIL you buy a membership, and then still wait til 60 days out. What are your thoughts on this?

  16. John Lacher on May 25, 2020 at 4:49 pm

We just joined Passport America for 1 year. Thank you for the suggestion

  17. Rob D on May 25, 2020 at 4:49 pm

Thanks for the camping membership recommendations. It saves us research on our time venture.

  18. SLBD on May 25, 2020 at 4:52 pm

I really appreciate these memberships tips, especially for part-timers. It’s hard to know how what length of time would make it worthwhile, esp TT as often where snowbirds go a lot of the parks are booked already to three-month folks. Thanks a lot!

  19. Lawana Hultquist on May 25, 2020 at 4:52 pm

I am just looking to snowbird in Arizona for some place a bit warmer I live in Wyoming at almost 8,000 as I get older the winters are just getting too brutal I have been looking in Arizona but I’m looking for a long-term

  20. Essene Light on May 25, 2020 at 4:55 pm

    KOA?

  21. Susan B on May 25, 2020 at 4:58 pm

Oh crap! We just bought a 10 year membership with Coast to Coast. It seemed like a great deal when they explained it to us over 90 minutes, and the membership included a Good Sam membership as well. Plus, our adult children are eligible to stay at any of their cabins, chalets, houseboats, yurts, etc. for $30/night (if it’s over 7 nights). Oh, well. Live and learn. They did give us a really good deal because my husband is a Vietnam veteran.
Plus, they will store our RV for $1/day and have us set up in the camp site of our choice (unless it’s taken, of course) with just a phone call to tell them when we will be arriving.
In addition to the 21 free nights of camping (with full hook ups) they gave us just for listening to their spiel, we pay just $10/night at any of their resorts (which are private and not open to the public, that’s how they keep the riffraff out, so said they) in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Anyway, I think we’ll enjoy it since we’re retired and plan on making the most of our RV lifestyle.
Thanks for the info, guys! You’re the best and I appreciate you always giving great advice and telling us how it really is.

  22. Dave Michaud on May 25, 2020 at 4:59 pm

Love your channel–recently subscribed. We have a 30′ travel trailer parked at a seasonal resort in preparation of traveling as we move into retirement. Your videos are more helpful than you know.

  23. Roger Buss on May 25, 2020 at 5:01 pm

Been a member of Thousand Trails for the last year-and-a-half I think I’ll stick with it I’m a full timer

  24. Grant Johnson on May 25, 2020 at 5:01 pm

It was good to see your confirmation of Passport America, this will fit our part time travel and one time across the country well. East coast people should be aware of Travel Resorts of America’s sales tactics. It isn’t exactly what one thinks it is when you have bought in and are looking back. If interested I’d be glad to expound so others go in without the blurred vision.

  25. Irma A on May 25, 2020 at 5:02 pm

What is the average more less for the parks with Thousand trails, for 5 days to 7 days, like in Florida ????? Is it like paying for a pricy hotel.

  26. Sno Win on May 25, 2020 at 5:02 pm

What if you don’t have an RV? I’m planning to live in my van. Do they have membership for smaller vehicles & will it be cheaper? I don’t plan to have hookups. Do they have showers we can use? I’m a newbie trying to figure this all out before I make the jump. Thanks!

  27. Isabelle Isabelle on May 25, 2020 at 5:02 pm

Hello again For the 1000 trails what is the % discount for the campground thanks

  28. not_your_typical on May 25, 2020 at 5:03 pm

With you having a larger RV, have you had any issues being able to book a large enough site with these memberships?

  29. David Galvan on May 25, 2020 at 5:07 pm

This is why I am boycotting Good Sam and Camping World; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQr6CP076Ic&feature=youtu.be

  30. Linda Rickert on May 25, 2020 at 5:07 pm

I can’t WAIT to get my rig and hit the road! Full-timing here I come! Thanks for the great info. Your research seems to be very thorough and I appreciate that. You two are “Oddly” enjoyable 😉. Keep it up

  31. Traveling Zombies on May 25, 2020 at 5:07 pm

    Check out harvest hosts

  32. Linda Grale on May 25, 2020 at 5:10 pm

You mentioned in a previous video that you have a contact for purchasing used TT memberships. We are in the market. I can’t find that video… would you please provide it again? Thanks!

  33. Roobah on May 25, 2020 at 5:10 pm

Good Sam Club is good for $0.05 / gallon off gas at Pilot/Flying J for gasoline, and $0.08/ gallon off for diesel. If you are on the road a lot, that discount can add up and make the discount worth it in a year. Also gives you 10% discounts at Camping World & free dump station on certain days at Camping World / 15% discount on propane refills at Camping World. Those aren’t exactly camping discounts, but if you are on the road a lot, this one might make sense for $29/year (which is what I paid at Camping World to get a $70 discount on an item I was buying — yes, they have closeout bins with super great prices on some stuff, but you have to have the Good Sam Club card to get the advertised price).

  34. Patricia Smith on May 25, 2020 at 5:11 pm

I was looking over the listing for several states we would like in the Thousand Trails system. I noticed the majority of them in AZ are age qualified resorts. We are 55+ but we are retiring with a young adult who will be with us most of, if not all if his life. You have a tot, have you found exclusion from parks an issue?

  35. Eric Albert on May 25, 2020 at 5:11 pm

Great video Odd Couple. I have this saved to my RV playlist. It will come in handy when we are able to RV full time sometime in the future.

  36. Yankee on May 25, 2020 at 5:12 pm

That was a very informative video keep up the good work in the good information you give people

  37. Stallz Trucking on May 25, 2020 at 5:12 pm

Hello I have a question for you. I realize that the answer my very based on ones desires and needs. However, based on the 6 month mark that you amazing folks are at what you GUESS it would cost on average based on your travels it would cost per year to be a full time RVer. This has been a dream of mine to do with my wife and 3 small children and a dog. My kids ages range from 15 months to 5 years old. I had dreamed of moving back to Alaska but after watching so many blogs on this life style feel like this is where we would get the most out of. Live should be about adventure and it’s time we live ours. We are in the planning phase and still trying to decide which would be best, an actual motor home or a fifth wheel because I’d like to take a vehicle and my Harley. Any advice on the planning phase?

  38. Cindy Lott on May 25, 2020 at 5:15 pm

    Great info. Thank you

  39. William Gallaher on May 25, 2020 at 5:15 pm

As a new RVer which would you choose Passport America or Thousand Trails?
I will be starting out traveling to WV, Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Tennessee, and everywhere in between to visit family and friends.
Also looking for a new home base in the southern USA.
Sorry to have bothered you but I’m trying to find the best bang for the buck, lol.
Thank you very much for in advance,
    William Gallaher
Safe travels to you and your family!!!

  40. passumnflash on May 25, 2020 at 5:17 pm

What do you recommend for a hwy 101 tour? More of a fly by the seat of my RV person. The preplanning and reservation is not something I am looking forward to.

  41. Leslie Rogers on May 25, 2020 at 5:18 pm

The end of this video was cute. Have y’all thought about doing some outtakes at the end of a video

  42. William Gallaher on May 25, 2020 at 5:18 pm

By the way I’m watching your videos on the campgrounds you suggested.
Thank you very much for sharing.
