    Chicago is mentioned for 2 things that are free or cheap.

    St Louis isn’t mentioned and has many things free St. Louis Zoo
    St. Louis Science Center, The St. Louis Art Museum. The Missouri History Museum, Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tours, Citygarden.
    The Muny, Grants Farm, and those are just a few and there are probably plenty of other places that I haven’t thought of.

    Around Christmas can go out to St Charles outside of St Louis, but not that far and they have Christmas traditions. Children can collect cards of various Santas from around the world and other Christmas characters can hear carolers, etc Again free.

    Also the first day they even have cookies and wassail as they light up the Christmas tree at the Christmas traditions for free.

    Mo botanical garden is one of the better gardens and it’s cheap to get in around $12 to get in and again there are probably many other cheap places to go to that I haven’t mentioned.

    so i pay airfare to go to these cities to do 2 things cheap or fee? Well that’s a joke. Also i would not want to ride the L train in Chicago not unless i want to get mugged.

    I guess we’re not counting hotel cost.  Those are some of the most expensive places to stay…unless you’re on the outerbelts.
