Angel's Landing – Scariest Hike in America? Steep Drop off – Zion National Park, Utah

One of the Scariest and Spectacular hikes in North America. Here’s a look at how Angels landing looks like with steep drop offs of 1,000 feet on both sides. Video shows me going up and down Angels Landing. It’s one of the most popular hiking trails in Zion National Park, Utah. It’s also listed as one of the top 10 hikes in North America.

Definitely make this one of the hikes on your bucket list.

Video recorded on April 24, 2017 using a GoPro and a FeiYu steadycam GoPro gimbal.

I hiked it twice as an 11 yo (I’m 12) it was fun and we got to feed chipmunks at the top with almonds also 17 people have died on it 🙁 it was hard

  3. WootTootZoot on April 30, 2020 at 3:18 pm

  6. Anthony Mendoza on April 30, 2020 at 3:19 pm

For regular official type hikes (versus unofficial type casual trails), I think you are right or at least right up there.

  8. Jerry Xiong on April 30, 2020 at 3:22 pm

Breath taking for sure, I’m afraid of heights so I will probably never see this awesome trail in real life.

  9. John Sickler on April 30, 2020 at 3:24 pm

    Looks safe to me

  10. audiotomb on April 30, 2020 at 3:26 pm

    I have hiked this twice
I am scared of extreme heights but this didn’t bother me.
The top dips at 20 degrees.
Do not go up when windy or poor weather.
California Condors fly up the thermals of the cliff faces.

    Enjoy it!

are they trying to kill hikers? it’s an accident waiting to happen. geez

  19. Jay Anderson on April 30, 2020 at 3:34 pm

It looks scarier in videos than it does in person, especially if you’re a climber. I recommend anyone so inclined to do it, it is gorgeous! The government trail canyon lanes, island in the sky is infinitely scarier and dangerous, even for climbers.

Man, and I thought all thing crazy like this was only in China!

  21. Emerio Manzano on April 30, 2020 at 3:37 pm

  28. Tom Cleverley on April 30, 2020 at 3:42 pm

Beautiful!!! I likely would have been game for that hike in my 20’s with a friend, but I couldn’t make it happen now. Thank GOD for the beautiful sights and for those who installed the grab chain.

  29. Needs More Flash!!! on April 30, 2020 at 3:43 pm

That guy going down really fast thinks he looks cool. Not in the slightest, he looks reckless, and thoughtless. Take your time going down. There’s no shame in safety

  30. John Sanford on April 30, 2020 at 3:45 pm

I’ve defiantly done more dangerous and scary hikes

  31. Jdean Drury on April 30, 2020 at 3:45 pm

I wonder how many die each year hiking this trail

  32. Delivery Guy1 on April 30, 2020 at 3:48 pm

    Great video and narration!

  33. Joey K on April 30, 2020 at 3:48 pm

I hiked this and it’s not that scary.
Just hold on to the chains and you will be ok.

  34. Hannah Louise on April 30, 2020 at 3:48 pm

I thought the thumbnail was minecraft 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

  35. Colin Clark on April 30, 2020 at 3:49 pm

A few years ago I watched two kids ride unicycles all the way up and all the way down, never getting off to walk. And that includes the chain area.

  36. Don Kemp on April 30, 2020 at 3:50 pm

Makes my hands sweat to watch the video. I’ve jumped out of planes and rappelled down 600’ cliff…but this? No way.

  37. Hollywood Hustlng on April 30, 2020 at 3:51 pm

  40. Free Soul on April 30, 2020 at 3:58 pm

  42. Get,Money, Jones on April 30, 2020 at 3:59 pm

    Israelites land

  43. Angelica Cline on April 30, 2020 at 4:01 pm

This is awesome. About three years ago I had a stroke and became disabled. So videos like these are probably as close as I’ll ever come to experiencing this. to be honest I have a small fear of heights anyway so even if I was physically able to do it, I probably wouldn’t do it. if I ever recover enough to attempt something like this I would not let that hold me back and I will try.

  44. Rafinha Latvezzi on April 30, 2020 at 4:02 pm

It’s called “Angels Landing” because after you fall and die, Angels Land to take you to heaven

  45. razony on April 30, 2020 at 4:02 pm

F-Me. See that green patch next to that brown river. That’s me waving!

  46. Ron Nowlin on April 30, 2020 at 4:02 pm

If you wanna know what’s scary about Angels Landing. Cross the Virgin river at her foot and you will find what is lost… If you dare…. Zion is the most beautiful place, The Landing is yours!
Now is a great time go. One way or another. I challenge you to run up Wally’s wiggles. My 1st time up was 40 years ago in sandals with my service dog. No chain rails. Look where you step, step where you look.

  47. Monica Leigh on April 30, 2020 at 4:03 pm

I did this hike. Wasnt as scary as it looks. But yes still scary

  48. Guadalupe Picasso on April 30, 2020 at 4:07 pm

Nice footage, but the music absolutely ruins it. And, I say that as a fan of a lot of house and electronica music. I imagine the person who edited that music in to be the type of hiker who plays music out loud, no headphones, while hiking.

  49. matt moose on April 30, 2020 at 4:07 pm

By far the best hike in US, hike the ap trail 2000 and change, half dome and others. This is the best bang for the buck hands down.

  50. VueTube on April 30, 2020 at 4:15 pm

It’s ok…I’ll hike places like this when I have wings. Until then…I think I’ll stick to ground trails.
