Bushcraft on Horseback – Hammock camping with horses and dog!

Bushcraft on Horseback – Hammock camping with horses and dog!

On this Horseback trek through the forest, we bring our dog, hammocks and tarps for an camping overnighter with minimal bushcraft gear. We were Horse riding in the rain for the whole first day, which meant getting dry firewood/ tinder and starting the fire with a firesteel wasn’t easy! After some horse action, we returned home the following day. Horse riding and hammock camping is definitely recommended! 😉

Many thanks to Stina and Tessa, our horses for the trip.
also thanks to Esther and the Slieve Aughty Centre, for letting us bring them!

Hope you like it! Leave a comment! 😉

I hope you were standing in the stirrups above the saddle while galloping. Rookies sit and get "saddle sore".

Very unique and awesome video I liked the galloping scenes from 0:55 to 2:28 specially at 1:54 that view from the top as you guys gallop by, so cool. Do more of mounted bushcraft. Thanks

Serious question for horse people. Why do you need a helmet? Is there that great of a chance the horse will throw you or is it hard to stay on?

  10. BillyBob on July 16, 2020 at 7:53 pm

No one is brushing the horses or caring for the dog’s paws.

I just found your channel yesterday, automatically subscribed after watching very natural videos you have. You both show realistic condition on survival, good skills and stunning landscape! Well, you got a new subscriber from far away south. Try to do survival in tropical rainforests, it would be interesting 😉 greeting from Indonesia.

You guys are bad asses! The most real survivor videos out there on YouTube. Keep it that way, please—not about the gear but about the wilderness and our place in it, unabashed.
