Coronavirus Fisherman's Edition. Can we still go fishing?

With so many of us dealing with the effects of the Coronavirus Covid-19, and being extremely bored during this stay at home order, I figured I would cover the question that some of us have. Can we still go fishing?

Matagorda, Tx closed the beaches and the ramps at the harbor. As of this weekend you could still drop your boats on the river.

Stay safe. Great video. Good advice for people to do it the right way and not ruin for everyone else. Also… ‘pretty much just made this video out of boredom’ 🀣🀣🀣🀏

I enjoy hunting and fishing alone. I have no problem launching my 17’ skiff alone, looking foreword to more days on the water. Skipjack and mullet out to be migrating soon. Fishing in the bay will be stellar soon!

The party kids will ruin the solitary fishing for everyone.

I fish by myself and have learned how to do this. Sometimes it could be hard doing it by yourself, but I have did it for awhile now. I own a Mako 181 , learned how to launch it by myself, since before the Mako, I did have a Bass Boat and that is how I learned to launch by myself. Great video πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŸπŸŸπŸŽ£πŸŽ£

This is tough on everyone right now, but we got to be smart about it. If we get this right, things will snap back. Don’t want to give the government a reason!

The truth is it might not kill you but it can kill your loved ones if you have kids dont expose yourself just to catch a fish because if a loved one falls ill for your irresponsibility then they will DIE in a room ALONE without a funeral or it can happen to you and your family mourns you just stay safe and dont take risks the case numbers isnt what matters pay attention to the death rate it will spike these next few weeks america will lead the world in total deaths for the lack of response i just hope everybody that reads this stays safe and practice common sense and stay away from other people and follow orders for the sake of maybe saving somebody’s life and before somebody tells me im wrong wait a few weeks and hopefully by then you can curse me for being wrong

I’ve been fishing everyday this week after work (I’m lucky to still be working) the only downside is all the tackle stores r close! But tackle Warehouse isn’t so I just order stuff online. Just order a new crankbait outfit. Be safe everyone be smart about this and we will get threw it good luck out on the water!πŸ‘Š

Btw my comment isn’t directed at you i agree with you for the people that fish alone but for the people that stack up on piers it aint worth it

  22. Charlie Boutin on November 19, 2022 at 9:08 am

I agree with you, almost everything they say to stay safe people should do anyway. I’m a solitary fisherman myself. The more isolated the better! πŸ˜‚ I’ve been going to local creeks and rivers around home in central Tx. The fishing has really turned on. White bass run, Largemouth staging for spawn..etc. But have been home a lot also. Oiled and re-lined reels, cleaned fly lines, sharpened hooks and tied lots of flys. Make the best of your situation.πŸ‘ Good fishing to you! 🎣. Stay safe folks. Best wishes! God Bless

Good advice again. I wonder if there are significantly less people fishing these days are the fish populations going to benefit at all. Could be some great fishing to come when this is all over.

Currently live in Dallas but am making a trek to Bolivar Peninsula April 6-11th. Cant wait to get back to some saltwater fishing. I don’t have a boat or a kayak currently and am hoping the proviso allowing for solitary fishing (the only fishing I do) allows me to wade in the Bays or perhaps enjoy some beach front fishing. Always enjoy your videos as you have become my credible resource for Galveston area fishing. Keep up the good work and hopefully the day will come when we get an opportunity to meet.
