Exploring a CRAZY Japanese Tackle Shop

While exploring Japan, I go exploring a crazy Japanese tackle shop. This Japanese fishing store features many pieces of fishing gear and techniques that I’ve never seen before. Come along for my exploration through Okinawa, Japan and the awesome things they have to offer here. Fishing in Japan may be one of the industries’ best kept secrets.

you can actually buy a lot of this stuff in the USA . eBay is one place to look or go to Alibaba and just search like you would on amazon . it takes about 1 month to get here .. look at the size . the item may be 1/2 the size you thought it might be , so do the conversion from metric . if you go to like Bass Pro shop you will see all their stuff is made in Asia anyway . what do you think is in all those ocean containers ? some sites will say you need to buy greater than 1000 items , but most sites will let you get 1 or more . this is a valid place to get stuff at a good price .. plus it is fun to look at…do a search for everything , fly fishing flies , reels rods nets hooks fly tying line braid bobbers weights , it is fun just to look at all the stuff .. usually you can get stuff 75 % or more off . or be able to get 10 lures for the price of 1 here in the usa .. etc

Thank You for your service. I always visit local baitshops whenever I travel to new areas, it’s interesting to see different locales have unique lure preferences/traditions – But that was off the hook cool. I definitely would have dropped some coin on a few Daiwa BG’s spinning and Tatula baitcasters👍 Thanks for sharing.

Japan is great. They don’t question our machine guns or rifles. I don’t question their fishing equipment. We just understand who is best.

ive spent hours in a day in my local tackle store 1/10 that size lmao

  31. VapeGoat on November 27, 2019 at 3:03 pm

It’s kind of cool seeing some of the similarities between some Australian stuff and this place, though obviously this place is to the extreme! Where I am there’s lots of people going for squid and i think cuttlefish, also I’ve noticed the people going for freshwater bream are really getting into the Japanese light stuff… But man I wish I could go check out their telescopic stuff that range was insane! I guess it’s because like you said they have a lot of small houses and are really into their "Kei" cars. Plus with so many people into fishing and not much freshwater going such small gear makes any catch a battle

Went offshore this weekend, and had a great trip! Look out for the video dropping next Monday 👀 Tight Lines Doods 🤙🏼🎣🍻

Dude you said you’ve been fishing all your life? must have been in the family pool. I don’t believe you haven’t seen some of that stuff before. From the electric breaking reels to forward-facing rod guides that have been around since the ’50s. The Japanese have found a way to make them smaller. Iso Fishing with floaters and even golf balls. it’s very popular in La Joya Cali and Hawaii. I really can’t believe you say you’ve been fishing for many years but never seen a large spool fly reel. What? Saltwater flyfish much? And some Bass pro’s in the US, state it’s better to back reel then using drag, They feel like they have more control and they avoid line twist. Lastly, the star looking hook is called a treble (TRE-BLE) hook, just in case you haven’t seen that before!

  34. Be K on November 27, 2019 at 3:08 pm

You should have purchase a new Video camera with autofocus, Japanese are good at making them.

Pretty sure that “fly reel” is a centerpin reel has zero drag or something cast and let the current take it buddy of mine uses them said they’re good for steelhead fishing

  40. Joe on November 27, 2019 at 3:16 pm

As you’ve probably noticed, the Japanese over complicate everything.
