You now have joined the few that have had the Alaska experience and you will have many years of stories to tell friends and family. Give yourself a pat on the back for sticking it out, it is a tough industry. I worked King Crab back in the 70’s and Dutch was still very primitive back then and I liked it that way. In some of the old houses scattered around people actually fixed them up to live in and some were very nice. And yes at times the hours were very long, our longest stretch was 32 hrs because a bunch of fishing boats came in at the same time it was a killer. At the end of that stretch management put on a huge party and we got 2 days off with pay.

So I’m filling out this medical questionaire i have to fill out for the job in june, and i’m a bit concerned on wether this would keep me from getting a job there or not. I was born with nager syndrome whiich is a facial birth defect but it also causes a part of my hands to be deformed as well. I have no joints in my thumbs, and dont have full rotation in my wrists. None of that has ever stopped me from doing my 110% best at any job i have ever done. And so i’m filling out these questions and I’m like, can you lift 51-100 pounds for 3-6 hours daily, and i look at myself knowing i dont have alot of upper body strength as it is, and on similar questions like can you grasp things forcefully. well no ,not with out joints in my thumbs my grip is as tight as a 10 year old on a good day. But aside for those minor issues, i wonder if this will keep me from getting a job or not. Because once i submitt this form, everything will be out of my hands. I dont consider myself " disabled" because I’ve worked all my life, but i am certainly with certain handicaps. I would love your opinion on this matter. I dont really know who esle to speak to on this matter.

Hi Mrs. Harmony , most important and obvious question here ? During your time down in the processing area ? Have you ever seen ANYTHING resembling pieces of small plastic waist inside a stomach of a fish WHILE it was being gutted and clean and process ? I was just curious to know how plastic waist has effect our ECO SYSTEM is all ? Thank you for reply greatly !
