I really want to go. But I’m afraid of seeing any alligators.

  2. avideo4u on April 10, 2020 at 2:14 pm

Weeki Wachee is no longer a privately owned attraction….but a public lands Florida State Park. They outsourced the canoe/ kayak launch and rental operation to Boating in Florida. Horrible…. so much that homeowners complaints now limit the # of kayakers allowed per day. You will NEVER get a reservation with your own kayak. This is because when you call they are always full…even if they are not. Nobody else can use " their" launch. Have your customer call 5 minutes later and say you have 5 people to rent kayaks…sure come on in! Dont expect the employees at Boating in Florida to be nice to your tour family…. in fact expect something like…" you could of saved yourself alot of $ and skipped this guy and just rented kayaks from us directly " or if your guest asks them a simple question…. are there any alligators? Why dont you ask your guide…. help you carry the other end of the kayak….nope. Your problem…not mine. My advice
Skip these clowns and the floating drunk fest progression of low class trashy people. Linda Penderson Park…. google it…. has a super nice county park with free parkimg, picnic shelters, playground for kids and a proper kayak launch….not a mudhole 9n the bank. Free…. no rude employees…. and actually a nicet paddle along coast to Bayport then into the Weekee Wachee from the other end. I have done the Weeki both ways. Short of it…. you will have a more peaceful paddle and probably see more manatees ….. take your time and pull out at Upper Deck restaurant or park across from it….. cab ride is 5 bucks and 5 minutes back to Linda Penderson Park to grab your vehicle and kayak trailer. The Weeki is a beautiful destination…. but the state park vendor is horrible, everyone has complaints. I heard Florida State Parks may put the Weeki Wachee canoe/ kayak contract out for bids to find a replacement. Till this happens Kayak Shack next to Upper Deck is better operation to rent kayak from. BEWARE THE $50.00 scam! You have exactly 4 hours and the float from headspring to poorly marked pullout will take 4 hours….. if your 1 minute late at pullout…. they bang your credit card ( just held for security) for $50.00 and you can not debate the charge. Last tip….. if you still decide to use the state park vendor…bring your own pfd. Theirs have the sweat n body funk from the last 20 people….same cheap wholesale pak of orange cheapos from China.

  4. NiteWolfe Fishing on April 10, 2020 at 2:15 pm

awesome looking place. Do they allow fishing?
Also yu said no motors. Does that include electric trolling motors? I am disabled and use a trolling motor on my kayak to allow me to kayak.

thanks to youtube and the internet , this river has turned into another ride at Disney World.
When I started kayaking here in 1992 I was the only Kayak on the whole river. Now it is a nightmare with hundreds of Kayaks coming down everyday. Less humans and more Manatees Please !!!!

Litter is the scourge of our civilization. I wish people were more concerned and show respect for our environment.

I once owned a small home right on the river back in the late 80s, bought the two bedroom home for $32k, sold it in 96 for $42k. Can’t image how much it’s worth now. Miss that place

  31. Danny Perry on April 10, 2020 at 2:49 pm

  33. avideo4u on April 10, 2020 at 2:55 pm

The contracted vendor who does all the kayak/canoe rentals at Weeki Wachee State Park has very rude employees, if you are not renting from them and bring your own ….well you will see.
