I do not believe that there’s only 2 rods and reels that qualify.
My observations on this.
50mm butt rings are great for distance casting…they are also very fragile.
Now getting a ring replaced is no big deal….until you come to source a MATCHING ring to the original and that on your other rods….this is where the budget carp rods fall down…one has no idea of the specific ring to purchase as the likes of Wychwood, Fox,Chub,Sonik and many others make it very difficult to find out the EXACT ring and source it.
As for reels…ensure that spare parts and spools are available and avoid "sharks tooth" line clips if you intend to cast to the "clip" regularly.
Here again…budget reels are great….until you need spare parts or a replacement line clip….then they are mostly junk.

Any one know were to get witchwood rods and reels in usa was not able to find any Amazon had some but out of UK and don’t want to support Amazon

Thanks for the info and the video. I’ve a question about the rods, what about using a telescopic rod? Or half telescopic + a fixed tip, do you recommend using them or it’s better 2 pieces rod only?
