Hiking & Camping South and Central Texas, March 2010

We hiked & tent-camped south and central Texas, March, 2010: 2-days at Padre Island National Seashore, 1-day at Goose Lake State Park, 3-days at Garner State Park and 2-days backpacking Pedernales Falls State Park. Highlights include: endangered Whooping Cranes, the Texas Champion Live Oak, the Texas Champion Ashe Juniper, 1870’s artifacts from immigrant settlers, beautiful scenery, and numerous wildlife. Winter weather in Texas is usually mild with blue skies. It is particularly nice just before Spring Break, when college students arrive.

Hey Ken, love the channel. Moving to San Antonio Tx soon from Mo. Know of any good places to backpack/primitive camp at around that area? Or of any resources where I can find outdoor stuff near me? Thanks again!

I wandered across your video this Spring Saturday daybreak in the hill country after a decent soaking rain. It fit in nicely here. Thank you.
