They make hunting deer so damn hard, it’s not even worth it. Bunch of darn bureaucratic crap.

I’d love to live in the states, you guys are so free compared to us in the UK. Lots of open country try you can use and explore, here we need land owners permission to hunt with an air rifle!

Also, make sure you sign the back of your license. I’ve seen the game warden catch hunters on this more than once. One buddy got a fine of something like $250. Am I right, TPW?

  4. garfieldwithissuez on November 1, 2019 at 3:55 pm

Did he just say you don’t have to take the hunters education unless you get caught and then it’s a choice between a fine or taking the class within 90 days? I was under the impression you couldn’t get a license without taking the class.

Is there any quail hunting for commoners or is it only for the rich landowner?…..

  10. Texas Parks and Wildlife on November 1, 2019 at 4:06 pm

If you receive a ticket for not being certifed in Hunter Education, you have 90 days to successfully complete the course and the ticket will be dismissed.

  11. C Thompson on November 1, 2019 at 4:07 pm

What really confuses me is that there is more public land and better hunting laws in liberal states…..

  12. Texas Parks and Wildlife on November 1, 2019 at 4:10 pm

You do not have to have hunter education certification to buy a hunting license in Texas. He says having no hunter education certification is the #1 ticket Game wardens write and that if one get’s a ticket, one can complete the hunter education certification course within 90 days and the ticket will be dismissed.

I remember the days when hunting wasnt big business for land owners and division of wildlife…..you could grab your rifle and ask for permission to hunt without the risk of some paranoid rancher killing you for even asking
…and asshole game wardens didn’t waltz right up to you in the middle of a hunt and ask to see your license……you guys are assholes ..I hope you get RMSF from a tick bite or bit by a giant rattlesnake far from a hospital

I’m native american and need a license to hunt my land that was taken in anger?

  16. Texas Parks and Wildlife on November 1, 2019 at 4:20 pm

Unrestricted harvest of animals led to the demise and near extinction of many species at the turn of the century. This is a documented historical fact. This reality led to the establishment of laws regulating the harvest of game and protection of other animals. These regulations and their support by law abiding citizens has led populations to rebound, continue to be a integral part of the natural world and exist to the benefit of present and future generations.

  22. garfieldwithissuez on November 1, 2019 at 4:30 pm

In other words, I don’t have to worry about missing the first day of Dove season because my class is a week after that and (having gone over all the course material plus being the owner of common sense) know with 100% certainty that I’ll pass the class. So even if I do get a ticked I’ll be able to get it taken care of with only a little extra haste?

Is there a minimum acreage for bow hunting in Texas?

  25. Jimmy on November 1, 2019 at 4:34 pm

After you tag the deer what do you do

  26. Alan Hamilton on November 1, 2019 at 4:37 pm

Easy thing to avoid. They’ve made it where it’s not even a viable activity anymore. Besides being a total waste of time and money, it"s stupid too. Just add up what it costs to harvest a few pounds of scroungy pounds of CWD deer meat and then see if it’s worth it. Hog and pig harvesting however is another story. No limit, season open all year, hunt at night. If the agricultural property is being impacted enough, you can even get paid. Just like a pecan property, one squirrel will consume about 100 lbs of pecans so that just gives somewhat of an idea of the importance of maintainence on the farm or ranch.
