Sure, Nacogdoches is important. But, if you were to ask me, Longview, Kilgore and Tyler are where it’s at. All are along I-20 interstate highway that’ll take you on into Big D (Dallas for you foreigners). Y’all come see us sometimes, ya hear!

Cameron Parish and some of southwest Louisiana reminded me of the plains of Texas, cattle grazing in the tall marsh grasses. I grew up going to family reunions in East Texas in the deep piney woods and it always felt like it had a mantle of the past laid over it, like one was going back in time.

I live in southeast texas about 25 miles form the gulf and 8 miles west of galveston bay
