Redfish In Shallow Back Lake Areas In Rockport Texas Kayak Fishing

Redfish In Shallow Back Lake Areas In Rockport Texas Kayak Fishing

With warmer water temps, the redfish were stacked in shallow back lake or back bay areas today. They were being picky on what they wanted to eat but I got on a few nice reds!

Buggs will work but try small tube jigs on 1/0 wide gap worm hooks or small flukes rigged the same.

Yes bro, I went through the same thing last year. I tried every single lure you could think of and that led me to ding into an old box of lures. Then I found it! A 2" 1/2 INCH "WHITE CURLY TAIL GRUB" I went back out to the marsh and it was fish on. Red after red…… may be worth the try.

My favorite is the ol* tried and true split tali red spot beetle grub soft plastic…fished em all my fishin life, made by H&H lures almost always a strike from those very selective fishys, I dont watch many videoes cuz of the BS fishing videos out there but yours is straight up obviously from a straight up guy..I am sure any body else who watches would agree, keep it up young man!

Looks like the fish were up very shallow.. Great video!

May I suggest a beetle split tail grub in green with a little red flake made by H&h. You can find a variety of colors that mimic a ghost shrimp and are inexpensive.many years ago on the port Isabel jetties, was tearing up under slot specks and a variety of fish having a blast. Thanks for your awesome videos.

    Definitely bugs lures

  13. Jorge Chavez on November 18, 2022 at 9:49 am

I was using the ⅛ Buggs Curl Tail Blue Crab and nothing. They just weren’t biting today.

  14. Sink Or Swim on November 18, 2022 at 9:54 am

That was an awesome blow up on the top water!

  15. RDI&H productions Finesse on November 18, 2022 at 9:54 am

It might sound usual, but don’t be afraid to try crappie jigs. Use all the colors that you would normally use. I use them when fish are spooking easy and they work well

  16. Dallin Gomez on November 18, 2022 at 9:58 am

Dude, Buggs are perfect for what you do. I’d try the curly tail redfish jig, click-bait shrimp, the flats bug. The curly tail redfish jig is not huge, but it’s a little bigger than the other two I mentioned. They are all shallow water redfish CATCHERS.

I’ve got some 2” Vudu shrimp that I hope will work on finicky Reds. Don’t know yet as the weather hasn’t cooperated with me yet.

Great Video ! For the picky eaters, maybe try a Slam Shady 2.0 paddle-tail, rigged weedless on a 1/16oz 3/0 Owner Twist-Lok hook, on a slow retrieve in the top foot of water.

  20. Evan Smith on November 18, 2022 at 10:02 am

Down south blue moon rigged on a 1/8 oz weedless jig is money when trying to match glass minnows

  21. Charles Gurnea on November 18, 2022 at 10:03 am

Buggs lures u can’t beat them

  22. Gary on November 18, 2022 at 10:03 am

All I could get them to eat today was the Down South Burner Shad in the Super Natural color. I had Purple Rain on first and twice they came up on it and then turned off. They were finicky alright but, I outsmarted them in the end 😅

  23. Sink Or Swim on November 18, 2022 at 10:05 am

Down south lures burner shad if you’re looking for something small. Headed out tomorrow, I get to fish Saturday and Sunday. Gonna enjoy fishing without a jacket lol

  24. Wolf's Fishing on November 18, 2022 at 10:06 am

  25. damnitman1969 on November 18, 2022 at 10:06 am

  27. Warren Payne on November 18, 2022 at 10:08 am

Curious as to how you rig your wake baits. I’m always fighting the line getting tangled in the hooks 🙁
