I live in the Catskills and fly and Spinner fish every where. The Delaware has massive Browns and many of the streams as well..Roscoe and the Willowemoc are a great place to fish but the Catskills have hundreds of great trout streams..

You were using a spinning reel while others were using fly rods lol. Trout are spooked easily, if you can learn to fly fish….. I plan to. Roscoe is like 45 minutes from me and there is what i was told from a friend who lived there is that there is an awesome castle up there to. I don’t know if it’s open to public but i’d like to go see it.

Lowly 8-9" stocker trout…not worth driving 5 hours to get there.

Did you know the Roscoe was named after the Sherriff on Dukes of Hazzard? I heard that the other day, never knew that.

Too bad you cant buy a fishing license in that town aka trout town usa. I went to all the bait shops in town and they said they dont sell licenses because the state will not pay them to sell them "after spending 145 dollars in fishing equipment". I then drove to Livingston manor and the other bait shop said the same crap. DO NOT SHOP IN THESE STORES GO ELSEWHERE THEY ARE STICKING IT TO THE TOURIST. VERY STRANGE PEOPLE ALSO ESPECIALLY THE BAIT STORE IN LIVINGSTON MANOR THE GUY WITH THE BEARD. SPENT 83 DOLLARS NO SMILE DIDNT KNOW JACK WOULDNT HELP

I grew up there.  Worked in the Antrim Lodge for Doug Bury.  Graduated in 1973.  Good memories mostly.

NY has excellent fishing, just not in Roscoe. Mediocre trout streams with small fish. This is a joke.
