The Most Reliable Fishing Rod/Reel Combo: Shimano Ci4+ / G. Loomis E6X Inshore Rod

The Most Reliable Fishing Rod/Reel Combo: Shimano Ci4+ / G. Loomis E6X Inshore Rod

Today we talking about a GREAT fishing reel and fishing rod combo. This is my go to set up for pretty much all inshore fishing. Whether we are pier fishing, bridge fishing, river fishing, jetty fishing or fishing off a boat, the Shimano Ci4+ and the G. Loomis E6X rod has not let us down. It continues to be a very reliable, lightweight durable combo. The price tag of this combo can be expensive, however, if you look for deals, you can get them at a very affordable price. This combo is truly an investment. I have been using this reel for over a year now. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. You get what you pay for. Shimano also has very good warranty.

We are using a technique called float fishing. This technique works around the world for many different kinds of fish. IF you want to learn the ins and outs of this method, read our FLOAT RIG ADVENTURE GUIDE. We wrote and fully illustrated this guide to help you learn this fantastic technique.

You should do more catch and cook

  2. aaron byah on November 1, 2019 at 3:47 pm

I’m not sure that qualifies as a "funny story" but that’s definitely a great deal!

  3. Avery Kirchner on November 1, 2019 at 3:48 pm

Which reel size would you recommend for trout fishing

  4. acccjj on November 1, 2019 at 3:49 pm

  5. Jun Da Li on November 1, 2019 at 3:49 pm

  6. Justin Davis on November 1, 2019 at 3:50 pm

    The reel is called Stradic.
Ci-4 is just one of many Shimano designed features.

I’m cracking up at Erin giving words of encouragement to her bait shrimp 😂😂😂
    I just love you guys!

  15. readyme on November 1, 2019 at 4:03 pm

I have been liking your videos. Do you have any experience with backpacking setups? Most out there seem like garbage. Can you recommend a reel for mountain lake and stream trout? I am going to be looking for a 4 piece rod to keep the length short in my pack.

  19. alexa piers on November 1, 2019 at 4:05 pm

which is better stradic ci4+ or new stradic FL?thx

  20. Holden Mikell on November 1, 2019 at 4:05 pm

Your not supposed to use a Saragosa on an extra heavy rod for trout

  21. সোনালী ইনকিউবেটর on November 1, 2019 at 4:07 pm

  23. Wrong Send on November 1, 2019 at 4:09 pm

    Nice catch. Keep riding it.

  24. Getzopurple on November 1, 2019 at 4:09 pm

Why are you guys striking the fish I thought you run circle hooks

  25. Alejandro Rodriguez on November 1, 2019 at 4:10 pm

    Try catching bigger fish

  26. 911 Tech on November 1, 2019 at 4:14 pm

Guessing that was a Stradic. Ci4+ is a description of the materials Shimano makes the reel bodies from rather than the reel name. They make Ci4+ bait casters as well like the curado. Great stuff. Even the 2500 has around 22lbs drag and weighs a few ounces.

  27. Northern Bred on November 1, 2019 at 4:15 pm

I’ve got the same set up for float fishing for steelhead. it’s a great rod

  28. RatheBeFishing RatherBeFishing on November 1, 2019 at 4:15 pm

    It’s a stradic ci4+ not just a ci4+

  29. RatheBeFishing RatherBeFishing on November 1, 2019 at 4:18 pm

The ci4+ us what it’s made from

  30. huy nguyen on November 1, 2019 at 4:18 pm

Your rods one piece or two sir?

  31. MUSTAMOMO on November 1, 2019 at 4:19 pm

What is your opinion on Shimano Saragosa 25000? As considering one for lure popping reefs

  32. Adam Y on November 1, 2019 at 4:23 pm

I would love to see a review on the Shakespeare ugly stik elite salmon/steelhead 9’ x heavy rod. I can’t find any.

  33. CalamityBYC1 on November 1, 2019 at 4:24 pm

Isn’t that reel for fresh water only? I was going to buy one from a guy for 300 he wanted to sell it as a combo with a g loomis NRX rod but when I asked if it was okay to use in salt water he told be “NO”.

  34. Tidewater Tony on November 1, 2019 at 4:24 pm

I like this video it reminds me of how you guys started just you two having fun and making videos keep it up guys want to see more like this

  35. Rodney Johnston on November 1, 2019 at 4:27 pm

They are knife real I have 2 of them that every fisherman can I afford them

  36. BayAreaFishingKings on November 1, 2019 at 4:27 pm

U took her spot when she lost that fish lol

  37. Blake Marchetto on November 1, 2019 at 4:27 pm

That black drum wasn’t huge😂 it was a nice little guy but definitely not huge. My dad caught a 40 lb black drum on a 2500 reel and medium light rod

  38. jason huynh on November 1, 2019 at 4:30 pm

That a garbage reel that shimano has ever make!! I bought one and use it for a few weeks and it start making noise and not as smooth as when i first bought it!!! my recommendation is the daiwa balistic this reel is fantastic it really smooth and u can cast really far with it

  39. Revolution Road on November 1, 2019 at 4:31 pm

Daiwa Ballistic LT is a much better bargain. I love Shimano’s but man they are not a bargain for the money.

  40. madtownangler on November 1, 2019 at 4:32 pm

Do you have a net of some kind for bridge fishing?

  41. Blake on November 1, 2019 at 4:33 pm

Is that the 4000 size for the Stradic?

  42. Anglers Lifestyle on November 1, 2019 at 4:35 pm

Always fun to see Erin fishing. I do understand about the adrenaline rush. My wife gets it all the time. She looses her mind when fish is on her line.👍

  43. Pesca e Emoção on November 1, 2019 at 4:36 pm

Parabens muito bom mais um inscrito e sininho ativado abraco e boas pescarias

  44. JoeyBrownVlogs on November 1, 2019 at 4:37 pm

Why are you using a heavy rod with a 4000 reel. For trout you can use a medium light with a 2500 sized reel 🤨

  45. Rusty Shacklfur on November 1, 2019 at 4:40 pm

Oh and if I could have a conflict for 95 or another reel for that price price I would give the fuego or a bg a serious look because Penn line lay is a 50 50 chance of being fishable or terrible in my experience especially my battles.

  46. H Milanes on November 1, 2019 at 4:40 pm

Those rods are produced by Shimano, not Gary Loomis. So technically its not a true Loomis or a knock off, its a Shimano blueprint with Gary Loomis’s name on it. Gary Loomis sold his company to Shimano about 2 decades back. Get an original G Loomis.

  47. Sherif الصيد والسمكه Mohamed on November 1, 2019 at 4:41 pm

    👍👍👍

  48. KyleForAwhile on November 1, 2019 at 4:44 pm

By far one of the best reels on the market.

  49. ViD3n8 on November 1, 2019 at 4:45 pm

Do you happen to know the part number on the on the E6X? I’m seeing different E6X models – 894C, 843C, 852S, 845C, 853C ? Thanks

I’m a believer in the sedonas and the stradic from Shimano. Keep them sprayed down with reelmagic and they will last for years!
