I went to Clearwater Beach with my Dad in 2018 and this year.
Pensacola Beach is in the middle of Trump Country. (all Florida north of I-4 is Trump Country but especially the panhandle)

honestly the great lakes deserve more attention. you need to visit grand haven, sleeping bear, muskegon, old mission, or anywhere in the up and inland, like houghton, burt, mullett, torch, higgins, canadian, black, and lots more. it’s my favorite thing to do, as i live in traverse city

Where is california, new england, northwest coast?
All I can say is take a trip to clearwater and you will see why it is number 1. The white fluffy sand is second to none and cleaned daily, the number of hotels, places to eat and shop along the beach and plenty bars for nightlife. The beach is shallower meaning smaller waves which translates to family kid friendly with minimal rip currents. Then there is the whole tourists things to do nearby like a 38 mile bike trail connected to other bike trails, go cart racing, botanical gardens, mangrove woods, multiple aquariums, downtown Tampa with river walk, etc…
Clearwater is overrated Indian rock beach is better less crowded and clearer water

No California beaches? Seriously? California beaches beat out Floriduh any day. Hapuna beach should be number one on the list followed by Punalu’u Beach at number 2.

SANIBEL , CAPTIVA , NORTH CAP. ISLANDS ~ FLORIDA !!! 4 TH LARGEST sea shell in world ! No oil black shells here. Island shaped like a scoop in gulf right outside of ft. Myers. Walk out a few feet the gigantic sandbar .There are only a couple franchise shops on island like Dairy Queen n subway everything else is mom and pop. Whole island has bike trail or rent a moped if feeling adventurous. Ding-darling drive through zoo-animal park or rent a kayak and explore tarpon bay. The sundial great resort to stay has condos and great kids programs and babysitting. Captiva is one of the most romantic and is known for having green flash at sunset so make reservations at Mucky Duck. North Captiva “ north cap.” You can only get to by boat and people live on island with solar power and drive golf carts. When you dock boat to grab great black beans and rice you will be entertained by sea otters doing back flips off boats . If you take shelling trip which is one of many offered; they whisk u off to large sandbar and opposite side a kelp bed inlet where I swam with wild manatees.Great place for lunch Islands are located right outside fort Myers,Florida get to travel over lee county bridge where people pay toll just to fish. Just make sure you have a message or chiropractic appt. set for return home [ SANIBEL STOOP = position you will constantly be in} and pray for one storm ⛈ best time to shell is right after. Hey it’s Florida usually gets back to sunny weather after half hour. So take family especially small kids spend some QT and enjoy . It’s my paradise .

I Hawaii should’ve been on this lost more and up higher. Florida is a lot less expensive to go, but Hawaii is MUCH more beautiful
