I’ve only played Gloomhaven at 4 players, and I didn’t really like it. I played 3 or 4 times with a group and I spent one entire game where all I could do was move around. My teammates were constantly blocking me and preventing me from doing the actions I wanted to do, so my best cards were wasted and it was very frustrating and unsatisfying, and it was the last time I played the game. It was also taking about 3 hours per game, which seemed like 90 minutes too long for what it is. A lot of people have told me I should try it again with 2, as it plays much better with less players. I’m willing to give it another try. I’ve been tempted to buy it

Akrotiri! Seriously brilliant game. (Was that the island you were on when you weren’t at Santorini?)

  3. William Harasymow on May 5, 2020 at 3:31 pm

    Sorry…this just didn’t do it for me…

  4. David Watkins on May 5, 2020 at 3:32 pm

Would love a list of best 2 player games

  5. Raúl Chávez on May 5, 2020 at 3:32 pm

Love to see the 2p only list

  6. Kris Hokanson on May 5, 2020 at 3:34 pm

Yes would like to see a two player video and Mitch Hedberg was awesome! "I used to to drugs. I still do but I used to, too" 🤣

  7. vijr on May 5, 2020 at 3:35 pm

    100% agree on Five Tribes.

  8. Joe Watts on May 5, 2020 at 3:37 pm

Love Kingdomino with 2. Planning where you are going to place your 2 tiles is great until you forget the order you have to take them and realise the 1st 1 has to be taken and placed before the 2nd one with was needed to play the first 1. Tactical error.
Our go to 2 player game is Monopoly deal. We mostly play on Holidays as 2 so it’s small and compact and we play to first to 5 sets to extend the game a bit but it’s still a quick game.

Just finished a four player campaign of Gloomhaven and do have to say I disagree with that pick. I think it works well at all player counts and some of the pros of more people are more potential combos as well as more viable team comps. I also think the enemies are sometimes less balanced at two. However it is a valid point about length for sure, as a 4 player mission let us 2-2.5 hours

  10. Matt Hunt on May 5, 2020 at 3:39 pm

    Great list guys thamx

  11. Alex Koller on May 5, 2020 at 3:39 pm

    This is painful to watch

  12. Larry Ted McBride on May 5, 2020 at 3:42 pm

Two players only, yes. Do it! Come on! Do it now!

  13. Jeroen De Mulder on May 5, 2020 at 3:42 pm

Good list guys! Welcome to… plays up to 100 players. I’ve never played it more than 2 players, and I probably never will…

  14. Brendan T on May 5, 2020 at 3:42 pm

but what about Santorini? it technically allows more players, but its horrible with 3 or 4

  15. El Rammo on May 5, 2020 at 3:47 pm

I like you guys. Did you know you got 500 likes?

  16. KC Horst on May 5, 2020 at 3:48 pm

So in Castles of Burgundy, you like getting an imbalanced amount of certain buildings and none of others ever for sale, and who knows what yellow tiles… ?

  17. augustjologs on May 5, 2020 at 3:49 pm

Race for the Galaxy seems to be another great game best at 2 players. At boardgamearena, most of the RftG games are 2-player games.
I’d love to see games best at 3-players. Now that’s rare.

  18. Toneloke 3000 on May 5, 2020 at 3:49 pm

Could you imagine playing games with these two guys drinking coffee or beer? A total Riot and good time😆

  19. Alan Russell on May 5, 2020 at 3:50 pm

    I LOVE Carcassonne!

  20. Dean Lowdon on May 5, 2020 at 3:51 pm

I actually prefer Castles of Burgundy at 3 player the best. At 2 player a lot of the tiles aren’t used and you can get unlucky in the last couple of rounds where the animals, buildings etc you need just don’t come out. At 3 players the ‘boat track’ also becomes more important

Totally agree with Grand Austria though, adding extra players adds nothing to but waiting time to the game.

  21. Bored Warlock on May 5, 2020 at 3:53 pm

OMFG Fuck you guys! STARTS @2:30

  22. Sarah Trager on May 5, 2020 at 3:54 pm

I love Dragoon and The Godfather Corleone’s Empire at two for the simpatico reason y’all mentioned.

    Your relationship makes me happy.

  23. James Campbell on May 5, 2020 at 3:55 pm

I think you guys have a serious ADD problem. 3 hour long games are short for board games

  24. Howiedoit on May 5, 2020 at 3:55 pm

    where is dinosaur island

  25. Richard Barbuto on May 5, 2020 at 3:56 pm

I want you to make that 2-person games Top 10 list…please.

  26. Le StacheGaming on May 5, 2020 at 3:58 pm

Loved your edits out of the segments, great sense of timing.

You guys are funny, enjoyable to watch.

Came to the video looking for games my wife would enjoy. Appreciate your insight.

    Have a great one!

  27. Guillermo z on May 5, 2020 at 3:58 pm

So I’m here always looking for games that play well with 2 players..
    Not 2 player only games..
Not games best at 2 players…
I know it’s so specific but since my wife and I play most games together, my collection consist of games that, may play best at a higher player count, need to also be fun/good at 2 players.

Here are some games I own and tried that play well with 2..

    Istanbul
    Viticulture
    Stone Age
    Takenoko
    Champions of Midgard
    Dinosaur Island
    Kerala
    Run Fight or Die
    Dice Forge
    Azul
    Coloretto
    Biblios
    Lorenzo
    Rajas of the Ganjes

I usually check the comments and ask how games play at 2. 🤓

  28. Elizabeth Doney on May 5, 2020 at 4:00 pm

Castles of burgundy takes too long with more that 2. Completely agree!

  29. Deathrace82 on May 5, 2020 at 4:02 pm

Cool stuff dudes! i SAID goodday sir!

  30. Fudge Fudge on May 5, 2020 at 4:04 pm

  31. cruiss plays as savage+ on May 5, 2020 at 4:04 pm

    Seasons…..hands down!

  32. Stevie Psycho on May 5, 2020 at 4:04 pm

Howdy, boys! Love this channel. I’ve secretly renamed you two Mad Dog and Uncle El Rey. Go forth in glory…

  33. FRANKIE ARISPE on May 5, 2020 at 4:05 pm

What in the fuckery…all bullshit games

  34. Jeremy Virgin on May 5, 2020 at 4:07 pm

I was the 500th like! Roll on with that 2player game vid!

  35. Mindy Erchull on May 5, 2020 at 4:07 pm

2 more we love with 2 players are Suburbia and Gates of Loyang

  36. Rhonda Rettig on May 5, 2020 at 4:08 pm

Would love any and all two player game related top tens you can do. My hubby and I typically play two player more often than not.

  37. StereoMonkey0 on May 5, 2020 at 4:08 pm

Race for the Galaxy, definitely cannot play that outside of our regular game group. Just too many in game jokes and rivalries to allow it to be played with others.

  38. Jen Washi on May 5, 2020 at 4:12 pm

Regarding Gloomhaven: we have a 4-player group going on and we somehow manage to meet at least every 4 weeks – latest 😁 normally we manage to meet every 2 weeks. So far we have been playing nearly 1.5 years and we still love it 😊 AS soon as you know the characters it gets better, time-wise. Love it. 😁

  39. RandR Couple on May 5, 2020 at 4:13 pm

Where do you get the metal trains for Great Western Trail?

  40. mrtrixta on May 5, 2020 at 4:13 pm

    2 player only games please!!!

  41. Rebecca I on May 5, 2020 at 4:16 pm

It shows a pic of legendary when you are talking about kingdomino

  42. Ryan McLean on May 5, 2020 at 4:20 pm

Great list, thank again guys! On The Gloomhaven, I’ve played at all player counts and I totally agree. Mostly because of the time per game and getting the peeps together on a regular basis. Plus if people are planning turns too much, the AP can get crazy. Although…the epicness of having four heroes and tons of bad guys is pretty awesome 🙂

  43. Melissa Coats on May 5, 2020 at 4:22 pm

Wow, I’m shocked that Seasons isn’t on your list. I find that it’s really hard to play at 3 and 4 while 2 players is nice a quick.

  44. Julie Lane on May 5, 2020 at 4:22 pm

I would love a best 2 player only games. Unfortunatly I only have 1 person who will play board games with me on a regular basis. We may have a 3rd soon but its still up in the air.

  45. Surya Kresnanda on May 5, 2020 at 4:23 pm

    LEGENDARY MARVELS KINGDOMINO 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  46. crawf168 on May 5, 2020 at 4:24 pm

Legendary, You Can Solo That? That is my favorite player count.

  47. Brant Shepherd on May 5, 2020 at 4:24 pm

Y’all don’t bid in Five Tribes with 2 players? I feel like that’s a great part of that game!

  48. ViperaRaddei on May 5, 2020 at 4:26 pm

I watched your video for 30 seconds and then spent a half hour watching Mitch Hedburg videos. I blame you… 🙂

  49. Vincent Heslin on May 5, 2020 at 4:26 pm

Love the energy! Finally found a top 10 2 player video that features crunchier games like Great Western Trail. Keep it up!

  50. Jessica W on May 5, 2020 at 4:29 pm

I would love a 2 player games list!
