Truck Camping | During a Texas Heat Wave | 104 Degrees

Well gang, did something stupid and headed out for another night of camping….but this time during a terrible Texas heat wave. Highest I saw on the trip was 104 degrees….but in the shade we cooled down to a brisk 102!!! Sorry if it was a bid slow, but when it gets this hot outside….not much to do except try and keep cool 🙂 Thanks for watching, and thanks for all your support!

If anyone is interested, below are the some of the gear I use during my camping trips. Amazon links are affiliate links.

It would be nice if zero breeze ac unit is also designed the shape to be flat like a wall mount flat screen TV so that it doesn’t take up too much space at the window. In that way, it can be used with many applications.

I used to live in the Benbrook area yrs ago. I left dry heat and moved to Florida, where it’s humid and hot as heck. Gotta be careful for sure. Great vid and I just subbed not long ago.

Next time bring a tube and float in the lake with a umbrella for the sun. In that temperature I would jump in the lake with my tighty whiteies.

I can relate to the heat, here in south Louisiana it’s so hot 🥵 outside u can’t hardly breathe and the humidity is ridiculous.

  29. Eric Siebert on November 24, 2022 at 4:15 am

Did you buy your Zero Breeze direct from them? They have it at $999 with no battery, don’t see it sold on Amazon. There are a few odd sites that sell it but don’t see it cheaper than $999. Also saw there is an IcyBreeze V2 Pro which is basically a cooler with a fan but it uses the melted ice water running through a heat exchanger instead of blowing air on the ice. It’s only $269, I might try that one.

  30. ryan longino on November 24, 2022 at 4:15 am

How do you like the frosty frog cooler? How did it perform in that heat?

  31. Bobby8451 on November 24, 2022 at 4:16 am

It was 104 today here in Atlanta. It’s horrible 😞. I’m love the cold not the heat. It just zaps my energy. Oh and BTW. why do people always setup their bed on the driver side of the truck??? I’ve never see a vid with anyone setting up on the passenger side. Lol 😆

You might actually hear the bell better because if the wind is blowing towards you it’s carrying the Sound to your ears on that chair while drinking your coors

Stay out of Texas or any Southern State to start with as Climate Damage Change is with Us for the rest of anyone’s life on Planet Earth. Driving on any Roadways when High Temp’s are present makes no common cents of reality for one’s tires, motor & most of all Human Life. You have a Fan then with a DC operated Refrig/Freezer chest have crushed ice & put in container in back of the fan to produce cooler air blowing on you. The Zero Breeze will cool down if you have the exterior of your Bed Cover insultated well. Slap a Solar Panel on the Bed Cover & Roof of your Truck & take atvanage of the Free Power from the Sun. Fish in hot extremes will not come to the surface as they will when weather temps are much lower than 104′ degree’s. OMG Cafine is the worst to drink in Extreme Hot Weather. Yes your wife is smart to drink plenty of WATER as in extreme weather conditions of Hot weather, the human body can lose a lot of water without drinking water in a very short time. Ice Tea & Coffee or Soda’s are a sure fire No Way to be drinking. Maybe just maybe staying home is a better option when the temps are extreme, just say’n.

  35. Roberta Henry on November 24, 2022 at 4:20 am

I really like your vid. This is the first one I’ve seen except for the A/C video. You were brave to go out there in a 104 degree temp. I’m in OKC and it was close to that for a few days. Your truck set-up is awesome. I look forward to watching more of your adventures! Take care and drink more water! 😄

How long is your truck bed ?

  39. Mark Pensavalle on November 24, 2022 at 4:25 am

I love the whole setup. Can you tell us how you craeted the curtains right now i’m just using velcro. But your system seems ideal

  40. EJ Castro on November 24, 2022 at 4:28 am

Maybe you can invest in an inflatable kayak or foldable kayak tho w/o shade, going out on the water would be inadvisable. But it would give you options for early morning, twilight fishing. Maybe?

  41. FATHER'S OF BASS on November 24, 2022 at 4:32 am

Yesssss!!! Another episode!!! I missed you man👀👀👀

  42. Quinn Hardtke on November 24, 2022 at 4:33 am

As a fellow Texas camper, PLEASE do a test video of how much solar generator you need in order to run it over night, and what kind of system you might be looking at to re charge the generator during the day. I’m looking into this as an option to add AC into an offroad teardrop trailer.

  43. Kenneth Ayers on November 24, 2022 at 4:33 am

Another great video Brian , very much appreciated that you went to Lake Benbrook for an overnighter in this Texas heat. Glad your Zero Breeze lasted through the night . We are heading to Lake Mineral Wells State Park next week for a couple of days, luckily we have A/C in our Square Drop trailer .

My grandparents on my mother’s side live in Burleson, Tx. I’m originally from Everman, Tx but moved to Northeast Texas years ago. My cousin and I used to go to all the lakes around that area. I think Benbrook had to be my favorite, followed closely by Lake Whitney. Anyway, that area of Texas used to be my stomping grounds.
