Camping @ Texas Renaissance Festival | Day 1
Camping @ Texas Renaissance Festival | Day 1
Jana has been camping at the Texas Renaissance Festival for about 6 years now and together this is our 4th year to camp. We decided to film it this year and show you guys a little bit of camp life out at TRF. Camping is pretty fun and it’s really nice to not have to drive in the morning or night traffic to and from Faire! There is clan camping, family camping, row camping, RV spaces, and quiet camping. They have also added tents and little cabins you can rent now!

Bivy = bivouac. Eetsa Fronch!
Going for 1,001 Dreams! First Texas Ren and to camp, but not my first Ren! Would love some minimal things to make sure to have, and advice for picking a spot being clan-less in Texas!
A bivy is also known as a rain fly. This will be my first season with TRF, auditioning for cast! So I will be camping, obviously, and I am buying all my gear and yes…. bringing everything!
I want to catch a ride in (oh, horse and wagon style would be the best!), then backpack all my gear in to my site, and pitch a primitive, basic, simple, ancient shelter, to round out the whole Ren experience. Make it a totally immersive weekend.
There was a brief moment when I saw the name of this video and considered doing this with my wife. Nope, I wouldn’t be able to handle it. We’ll stick to schlepping it back and forth to hole in the wall motels. Kudos to you guys though, you’re real troupers!!
