CARP FISHING ACROSS THE POND

CARP FISHING ACROSS THE POND

Carp fishing in the USA is one of the most untapped carp fishing destinations in the world. Along with our American friends Brendan and Austin Pass we caught carp from some of the most incredible waters in USA. But also Brendan and Austin discovered what English carp fishing has to offer when they visited the UK and caught many carp including some lovely scaly mirrors. An amazing adventure and one we will never forget! Hope you enjoy the video!

My ex-mother-in-law lived near a small lake south of Akron, Ohio. I used to catch carp up to 25 lbs. on ultra-light tackle in that lake. Lots of fun. I used vanilla-flavored dough bait on small treble hooks.

Absolutely delightful from beginning to end. More enjoyable than any fishing programme I’ve ever seen on the telly, even including the Jack Hargreaves ones in the 1970s. One wouldn’t even need to be particularly interested in fishing to enjoy it, I’d say.

Thanks again for another keen video. I enjoy the audio tracks, (DnB 4 Life!) you guys put behind them. is it music from open source and royalty free stock. Or is it from your personal collections?

I put this video on this morning to see how you guys would fish the waters here in the US. I was excited to use your methods to try and catch my first carp ever. Using a pack bait around my lead and a hair rig with sweet corn, I was able to land a beautiful ten pound common! Thank you Carl and Alex for the inspiration and techniques. I’m hooked on carp now!

I fished a lot for trout in New Mexico in my teens, many years ago. Have lived in Texas since ‘69. It never dawned on me you would/could fish for carp. Never dawned on me there was more than one type of carp. Have really enjoyed this. Beautifully edited. Thanks!

Ive been stuck in hospital recovering from heart bypass and afterwards caught an infection that caused its problems on top. That said I’m recovering well and I hopeful to return home (Somerset) in Athens next week. I’ve been watching lots of your channel and it has ingnited the Carp fever in me again. All my Drs and family are saying in need to take it easy and relax into my recovery. I’m thinking I might spend my time doing my own single large lake campaign over a year like you have done. I "accidentally" bought three new bait runners online last night now searching for three new matching car rods to suit them 🙂. I also enjoy some of the DnB tun s that you have over the top of your films. Cheers for the inspiration lads

I’m a Brit who now lives in the south US. I used to match and Carp fish in the UK. I brought all my equipment over to the US to fish and I’m always catching. American’s are amazed at the gear because, to be frank, America is 40-years behind the UK And Europe in fishing technology if you’re not fishing from a boat for bass. They’re catching on to bite alarms but rod pods, spodding etc. are completely alien to them. I’ve had people stunned when I pull large Carp out of waters that they’re fished, in some cases, for decades and never knew the fish where in there. I had two people laugh when they saw my 40" landing net, until about an hour later when a 28lb fish was sitting in it… and they were shocked. LOL. Carp here are regarded as "nuisance" fish. Many tournaments are held here where people hunt the carp down at night in the shallows with crossbows. 🙁

Perfect from start to finish, editing was spot on, transitions perfect, content absolute quality, set the scene brilliantly and some great accounts from all 4 of you. Can see the passion in everyones eyes and I can honestly say i’d PAY to see more feature length content like this. Just getting into angling myself this year & What an inspiration you really are.
    Congratulations.

In my state they do not allow us to return a carp to the water in the inland lakes. They are considered invasive species that threaten other fish. This is not so in England where they are considered game fish most often for catch and release. It is also different in the Great Lakes much larger where all kinds of fish have a fair chance to survive.

i’m in southeast michigan too, looks like these guys live downriver, the detroit river is a world class fishery forsure. i carp fish sometimes because they’re literally everywhere around here and they are SOOOO easy to catch. not very spooky fish either i’ve grabbed some by hand out of some streams around here. even had some slam some of my bass lures before (ned rigs) very strange. definitely untapped and underrated here in the states. there are places where i can hook one every single cast in the 12-20lb range
