Texas Kayaking Up Denton Creek

Texas Kayaking Up Denton Creek

Texas Kayaking Up Denton Creek
Come with me as I explore another North Texas kayak trail. This is part 2 of the Denton Creek series. On this video, I paddle up Denton Creek from where it enters Lake Grapevine. May paddle on this trip is 5 miles round trip, but you can easily make this a 10 – 11 mile paddle by continuing on to the HWY 377 bridge.

Nice video! I am purchasing my first kayak for kayaking in the Austin, San Marcos Tx area. I have been told that a 12′ would be better than a smaller vessel. Looking to trail through similar creeks and rivers like the one you have posted here, with a few rapids here and there. What size kayak do you have and what length do you recommend?

Wonderful video. I prefer river to lake paddling and never knew such a great place on the north end of Lake Grapevine. Keep the videos coming, please!

What if you have a Kayak that you peddle, can they be part of your story as well?

Cheers for this! Helps me immensely as a beginner with the maps and showing where to unload and stuff.

Sorry, but hope paddling doesn’t catch on.
I love ❀️ the days I have where I paddle for 8-12 hours and don’t see another boat πŸš£β€β™‚οΈ
Imagine if everyone knew how fun it is. There’d be traffic jams on the creeks 🚣🏻 πŸš£β€β™€οΈ πŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸš£πŸ»πŸš£β€β™€οΈπŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸš£πŸ»πŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸš£πŸ»πŸš£β€β™€οΈπŸš£πŸ»πŸš£πŸ»πŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸš£πŸ»πŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸš£πŸ»πŸš£πŸ»

Thanks for the detailed video Cliff! Picked up kayaking this summer as well and have already done quite a few local paddles. So far we’ve done The Brazos, Lake Lewisville, The Greenbelt Corridor and Caddo Lake. I believe this weekend we’re going to try Denton Creek and next weekend we’re going to conquer the Cross Timbers Trails up on Lake Texhoma. As an experienced North Texas Kayaker, are there any other spots you highly recommend within a reasonable drive? (Next summer we plan to do Frio and Big Bend).

Great video and thanks for posting. A point of clarification…..Grapevine Lake is just over 7,000 surface acres. Lake Lewisville is about 28,000 surface acres.

    Been wanting to try grapevine

Have you been to any places that would make a good over night/stealth camping paddle in the area?
About to sub and check to see if my question is possibly answered in another video
