Both the current Mercedes Sprinter chassis and Ford Motor Cars Transit chassis have strengths for a Class B+ RV. Ten and Nine-speed transmissions are offered, several diesel size engines for both with the Transit chassis offering a 3.5l V-6 twin turbo benzin engine. Each chassis offers a comprehensive suite of collision mitigation options, both can be spec’ed with 4×4 and Super Wide tire technology on the rear axle versus old sckool dually tire arrangements. .. I’d say the segment offers an RV buyer/builder a broad pallet of choices.

I have a Winnebago Trovato 59G, built on a pro master 3500 van. It is front wheel drive, which makes for a flatter floor (no drive shaft). It has a six speed transmission, and I get 15–16 mpg. In general the comments I have seen on YouTube and personal stories, lead me to believe that the Mercedes diesel is more expensive upfront and in the long run via maintenance. Personally, I’ve never owned a diesel, and I might never own a diesel.

I think that Mercedes needs to offer a better gas engine not a 4 cyl that will have issues going up hill as well as pulling a load plus if you building it as an RV the weight will bog the van even more.

I was under the impression this was MB VANS, what happened? as you showed Class As and TRUCK CAMPERS which have nothing at all to do with TRUCKS, are not VANS and Class B+ campers are not VANS, they again are trucks. Just do one or the other as many up fitters were left right out of this video. I was hoping to learn something with this video and that did not happen as the information provided did not cover MB VAN and why it would be a better selection vehicle for most up fitters. MB has taken some wonderful steps in the last few years, fixing issues like CUP Holders, NOT Cover in this video, Gear systems NOT Covered, Power train Front wheel, Rear wheel, and or 4-wheel drives, and not a word about the 144 or 170-WBs. In the next video, think it out and stick to the subject of your SUBJECT LINE. Nothings about Air Streams Interstate, Coachmen, Winnebago, and many other up fitters as I was hoping to see some interviews of CEOs or Class managers talk about why they like the MB vehicles. You really need to do a lot more homework in this area.
