cant find a good pressure graph for future!!!!!! grr lol what did you use?

  7. Jay Frost Official on November 1, 2019 at 3:49 pm

So today is 84 degrees unfortunately I’m not going to be able to hit the water until around 2 now my question for you is it’s the beginning of summer winds are 5-10mph I don’t have a boat so I fish the banks would it be good to throw out senkos senkos are my go to bait I love using them

  8. Stoney Lonsome on November 1, 2019 at 3:49 pm

I hear two conflicting things about summer fishing- half the ppl you talk to say the bite is tough, the fish move to wherever the oxygen is so, they tend to be deeper and holding on structures you won’t know are even there unless you have electronics or have found out some other way- submerged rock piles, brush piles, ledges, long rocky points, etc. Stuff you have no way of knowing is there if you’re fishing from the bank or from a boat with no electronics. The other half say just the opposite, that this is their favorite time of year to fish when they do the best. I don;t know which is true but I know this- if you live somewhere where everyone bass fishes, and I mean like half of them own boats and have invested lots of time and money into it- yet the little local lakes and ponds you fish seem to be mostly empty of anglers- there’s a reason for that. Trust me, if it’s local to you the nit’s local to them and if there was good fishing there you wouldn’t be able to beat them off it with a stick. The reason I’m saying all this is because I just started bass fishing, and I just started bass fishing from a kayak- so I wanted to go to these small lakes and ponds first to avoid larger, more dangerous bodies of water where I would have to deal with lots of boat traffic and so forth. But- I didn’t think about the fact that there’s a reason these lakes are pretty much empty- they suck. Not so much for cat fishing or whatever but, for bass fishing- not the places you want to go. And because of this I have been doing really poorly- on a good day I might catch two… and thinking it was my fault. The truth is that it is my fault to some degree- I’m learning and I can’t expect to be Bill Dance right away but- a big part of it was just where I was fishing. You have to catch some fish- enough to keep you motivated- or you’ll burn out eventually- so if you’re like me and just getting started, make sure you fish where you have a decent chance of catching something when you do get it right.

I just fished in the rain first time yesterday. Best fishing I’ve ever had. It was a light Rainy day the whole day, but I fished from 3pm-5pm. It was windy, rainy, was a full moon a day or two ago and we had overcast conditions. Caught 20lbs of bass I’m about 10 minutes with a football jig. I was moving lithe jig pretty fast and they were slamming it. Was amazing!!

  18. fyescas777 on November 1, 2019 at 4:02 pm

I need clarification please, he says thay low pressure is good for fishing which explains why fishing is great during rain. But many other sites state the opposite; high pressure = high bite. Can anyone elaborate on this? I do understand thay during a decrease in pressure the bite is high. But I want to know the effects during steady pressure at both high and low pressure. Thanks!!

Thank you, this should be the quintessential video for beginners. You are helping new anglers with a year or two under their belt to have the understanding of someone with decades of experience.

my great grandfather use to say if the wind was blowing from the south the fish wouldn’t be biting and we would never go fishing on days that the wind was blowing from the south

People get caught up in the newest lures and gear. THIS is the information people need to be listening too. Made the same mistake my first year. Got all the newest and greatest and still had trouble with bites. When I backed up to a few confidence lures and a use these tactics things started happening.

  30. Matt Sullivan on November 1, 2019 at 4:10 pm

I was going to ask if you would do something like this but decided I’d watch all the videos I haven’t yet. Thanks for all your insight over the years.

    Highly recommended chancel

  45. Keith Tampkins on November 1, 2019 at 4:27 pm

Would you teach more about when to use the different types of top water lures please. I am not a top water fisherman, but I want to be. There are so many brands and types. For example; what time of day do you put away the top water lures and go to your deeper lures-what are you looking for? I know you would use bladed top water on a windy day, but lets say it’s a calm day; when do you choose a spook over a frog? Pertaining to frogs, when do you choose a hallow body over maybe a zoom horny toad or frog?
